The Kerry Way Ultra Recce

The Kerry Way Ultra Recce

Kerry Way Ultra Recce

Unfortunately, due to the increase in the cost of insurance and coach transfers, the Kerry Way Ultra recces will not be going ahead this year – 2025.

However, there may be some ‘unofficial’ recces during the summer months. These will be groups of runners meeting up at various locations around The Kerry Way and recceing sections of the route. Experienced veterans of The Kerry Way Ultra may be available to join you. The Kerry Way Ultra Chat on Facebook will be the forum for details on these runs. Whether you are doing the full Ultra, the UltraNite, the UltraLite or the UltraRelay, recceing a section, or sections, is great preparation mentally and physically.

Check out locallinkkerry.ie for transport details. This is a local bus service which provides accessible, affordable and sustainable transport around The Ring of Kerry.

If you decide to go with Group A (a faster group) use Van A for your bag. Group B, use Van B. Only one drop bag needed as it will be brought to each crew stop. If you decide to drop out at any stage, you may need a taxi to get back to your car, we may not be able to return you.

Both recces together will/may cover the entire Kerry Way route.

There will be a cost for each recce, it will be €50, this is to cover the costs of transport (whether you use it or not), guides, crew vans, insurance etc.
